Our Process
How an Alteration Appointment Works
Bring the Garment In
Walk in Monday through Saturday. Bring the garment on a hanger, the shoes you plan to wear with it (for hemming), and any reference photos if you want a specific style.
Pin and Quote
The tailor pins the alteration while you are wearing the garment. This is when we agree on the length, fit, and details. You get a written quote before any work begins.
Sewing On-Site
Work is done on-site by our seamstresses. We will give you a quote and an estimated turnaround when you bring the garment in.
Final Fitting
You come back to try on the finished garment. If anything needs adjustment, we fix it before you take it home. Most pickups take five minutes.
Honest Limits
Garments We Cannot Alter
Most garments can be altered. A few cannot, and we will tell you before pinning so you do not pay for a quote on something we cannot do:
- Heavily beaded or sequined formalwear where the seam is buried under the decoration.
- Garments labeled dry-clean only where the construction does not survive un-picking and re-stitching.
- Knockoff or counterfeit designer pieces — for legal reasons.
- Items with bonded (fused) linings that have already started to delaminate — taking them apart usually destroys the garment.
If you are unsure, bring the garment in. We will look at it, tell you honestly what we can do, and quote only the work that makes sense.
